For a while I have been thinking that we (in Australia) should be holding our own Festival of Colors. I had put forward a verbal proposal to my devotee friends – let’s be the first in the country to hold a holi festival at the farm. We would charge $20 entry with vegetarian feast served, select musicians playing on stage mixed with our kirtans and no alcohol. On a worst case scenario, we could get up to 5,000 people which would mean $ 100,000 income ! Maybe this could be a profit too because we could have corporate sponsors taking up the program like Sony (who are about color and clarity) and the money collected from this can be used towards getting the stage, sound, lights hire etc. With $100,00 profit, we will buy a few cows, bring out some cowherd men from Vrindhavan/Mayapur to look after them and over 5 years build a thriving dairy business.
Like that I was thinking. But then came along this group who started their own Festival of Colors 🙁

This what they declare on their site – “Now the single largest event series in the nation, The Color Run is exploding since our debut event in January of 2012 and will grow from over 50 events and 600,000 participants in 2012, to over 100 events and over a million participants in 2013”
Wow ! If we attracted 600,000 participants at $ 20, we would have made $12,000,000 ! We can build our Hare Krishna dairy farms around Australia !
